MST Wireless Set Up

MST is the primary wireless network for the campus. You will need your university username (@umsystem.edu) and password to log in without registering your device. 

Note: MST is not the wireless network used in residence halls. To connect to the internet in a residence hall, visit https://mst.apogee.us.

Before configuring the GUEST Wi-Fi, please register your device to our network.

REGISTER DEVICE 

Configure MST Wireless

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right corner in the system bar.
  2. Find and select MST under Wireless Network Connection.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. You will get a pop up asking for your username and password. Enter your username@umsystem.edu and your university password (same one as Joe'ss).
  5. Click Connect.
  6. You are then connected to the MST Wi-Fi.

If you are unable to connect: Forget the Network

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right of the system bar.
  2. Click on Network & Internet settings at the bottom of the listed window.
  3. On the left-hand side column, click Wi-Fi.
  4. Find and select Manage known networks.
  5. Select the MST in the list of networks.
  6. Click Forget that appears on the right-hand side of the selected network.
  7. Follow the "Windows 10" steps above to try again.
  1. Click the wireless icon at the top right of the screen.
  2. Find and select MST.
  3. You will get a pop up asking for your username and password. Enter your username@umsystem.edu and your university password (same one as Joe'ss).
  4. Click Join.
  5. You are then connected to the MST Wi-Fi.

If you are unable to connect: Forget the Network

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon at the top right of the screen.
  2. Find and select Open Network Preferences... at the bottom of the listed items.
  3. Select the Advanced... button at the bottom right of the window.
  4. Find and select MST in the Preferred Networks: field.
  5. When MST has been selected, click the Minus button on the left-hand side under the Preferred Networks: field.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Apply.
  8. Follow the "Mac" steps above to try again.

 

  1. Select the Wi-Fi icon in the settings of your phone or at the top menu bar.
  2. Find and select MST from the list.
  3. You will get a pop-up asking for Wi-Fi configurations to log in.
  4. Under EAP method, select PEAP.
  5. Under Phase 2 authentication, select MSCHAPV2.
  6. Under CA certificate, select Do not validate.
  7. If you see a required Domain section, type in mst.edu.
  8. In the Identity field, enter your username@umsystem.edu.
  9. Leave the Anonymous field blank.
  10. In the Password field enter your university password (same one as Joe'ss).
  11. Click Connect. 
  12. You are then connected to the MST Wi-Fi.

If you are unable to connect: Forget the Network

  1. Go to the Wi-Fi settings in the settings app or at the top menu bar.
  2. Click on the settings gear next to MST in the listed networks.
  3. Click Forget at the top of the screen.
  4. Follow the "Android Phone" steps above to try again.
  1. Find and go to the Settings application.
  2. Select Wi-Fi in the listed option on the screen.
  3. Find and select the MST in the list of Wi-Fi networks.
  4. The next screen will ask you to log in, enter your username@umsystem.edu and your university password (same one as Joe'ss).
  5. Select Join at the top right of the screen.
  6. It will ask you to trust the network, select Trust at the top right of the screen.
  7. You are then connected to the MST Wi-Fi.

If you are unable to connect: Forget the Network

  1. Go to the Settings application.
  2. Select Wi-Fi in the listed settings.
  3. Find and select the MST from the listed networks at the top of your screen.
  4. Click on Forget This Network at the top of the screen.
  5. Follow the "iPhone" steps above to try again.
