Find Your Ethernet Address

NOTE: Ethernet address, MAC address, physical address, hardware address, and Ethernet ID are all terms that reference the 12 digit alphanumeric code

  1. Click the network icon on the bottom right of the taskbar and screen.
  2. Select Network & Internet Settings towards the bottom of the list.
  3. Find and click the Properties link of your current Ethernet or wireless connection.
  4. At the bottom of the list next to Physical address (MAC): you will find the Ethernet address in form 00:00:00:00:00:00
  5. Register both your MAC addresses at https://netdb.apps.mst.edu.
  1. Click System Preferences.
  2. Click Network.
  3. Check to make sure the Location is set to "Automatic".
  4. Click Wi-Fi.
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. Click Hardware.
  7. Note your wireless card 12-digit alphanumeric code of form 00:00:00:00:00:00.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Network.
  10. Click Thunderbolt Bridge.
  11. Click Details.
  12. Click Hardware.
  13. Note your Ethernet card 12-digit alphanumeric code of form 00:00:00:00:00:00.
  14. Click OK.
  15. Register both your MAC addresses at https://netdb.apps.mst.edu.
  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. Select About.
  4. Scroll down to the Wi-Fi Address, this is the MAC address in form 00:00:00:00:00:00.
  5. Register both your MAC addresses at https://netdb.apps.mst.edu.
  1. Go to the Settings app/icon on your phone or at the top menu bar.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the list and select About phone.
  3. The MAC address is found under the Wi-Fi MAC address in form 00:00:00:00:00:00.
  4. Register both your MAC addresses at https://netdb.apps.mst.edu.
