New Students Account Setup

Get started at S&T by setting up your account

Before attending your scheduled New Student session, you will need to complete the following steps to set up your S&T student account.

Note: If you are having issues with the steps listed below, please contact the IT Help Desk at (573)-341-4357 or ithelp@mst.edu.

After you were admitted to S&T, your username was added to your application status page. Login to that page using the email and password you used when you created your application. If you are unable to login to the application status page to retrieve your username, please contact the Office of the Registrar.

  1. Click Create Your Password (This is the same page you will use to change your password). Be sure to make a password that meets the password requirements.

    NOTE: You must use <username>@umsystem.edu to create your password

  2. Access Joe'SS

  3. Go through the registration process and answer the security questions.

  4. Once your New User Setup is successfully completed, you will be prompted to set up your password.

    NOTE: To make your data more secure, Missouri S&T uses a two step identification process where a passcode is sent to an outside phone.

Signing the e-consent form on Joe’SS enables your academic and financial information to be available electronically through Joe’SS.

  1. Open Joe'SS in a new tab.
  2. Sign in with your S&T username and password.
  3. Once successfully signed in, click the ‘UM E-Consent’ link in the menu on the left side of the page.
  4. Review the agreement, and accept the terms.

Information available through Joe'SS includes:

  • Application and admission status tracking
  • S&T email account setup
  • Scholarship applications
  • Transfer credit reports
  • Campus housing priority

Once access to Joe’SS has been set up, visit portal.office.com and sign in with <username>@umsystem.edu to ensure that the email account was successfully activated. For example, if your username was joeminer, you would login as joeminer@umsystem.edu.

If you are unable to sign in to Microsoft 365

  • Go to the Student Email webpage.
  • Follow the steps on the email setup page to activate the Microsoft 365 portion of your student account.

Setup Multi Factor Authentication

You will then need to set up your MFA authentication to securely log into S&T applications by using your phone or the MFA application. Click the button below to set if your MFA.
