Although computer labs are available for student use, over 90% of incoming freshmen choose to bring their own computer. Both Mac and PC platforms work on our campus network.

The S&T Bookstore offers both Dell and Mac computers for purchase. To learn more about these computers as well as other technology and software available for purchase through the bookstore, please visit MinerTech.

Dell-Certified Campus:

The Missouri S&T campus is a Dell-Certified Campus. When students purchase a Dell computer through MinerTech at the S&T Bookstore, warranty support is included and provided by Dell Certified Technicians in the S&T IT Department. 

Recommended Operating Systems:

The recommended operating system on the Missouri S&T campus is Windows 11. A minimum of 16GB of RAM is suggested. For a Mac computer, the macOS operating system may be used on campus as long as Microsoft Office is compatible with the platform.
